Australia, we’re going to the moon!

ELO2 is leading Australia's lunar rover mission

The ELO2 Consortium has been selected to deliver Australia’s first Lunar rover. The $42 million Australian Space Agency project will see ELO2 design, construct and operate the Australian-made rover, "Roo-ver", on the lunar surface. Our mission is to foster new horizons in the Australian space sector, focusing on the development of essential services for lunar exploration missions. As part of this program, we are dedicated to showcasing and advancing Australian aerospace and roboics capabilities through the design of a cutting-edge, remotely operated, autonomous robotic asset on the lunar surface. By actively contributing to NASA's Artemis program, we are paving the way for an exciting future in space exploration.

Unveiled: ELO2 Consortium Prototype

ELO2 has unveiled our newest rover prototype, embodying Australia's cutting-edge capabilities in robotics and mining by showcasing unique capabilities for a ground-breaking task: collecting lunar regolith to support oxygen extraction. Demonstrating end-to-end remote operation via Lunar Outpost Stargate mission operation sotware from the United States, the improved prototype successfully navigated lunar- and Martian-like terrains at its unveiling in Adelaide, demonstrating the ELO2 Consortium's rapid, collaborative achievements.

Meet the early-version ELO2 Rover Prototype

Introducing our rover prototype, a leap forward in lunar exploration. Designed to navigate the Moon's tough terrain with special wheels and a collection device, this prototype focuses on refining chassis and suspension systems. Marking a pivotal step in the Trailblazer program, it represents our dedication to advancing space technology through rigorous testing and continuous improvement, paving the way for Australia's flagship mission in space exploration.

Our rover prototypes proudly bear the Australian Made certification, highlighting our dedication to local innovation and manufacturing excellence. This recognition underscores the high standards our rovers meet as we work towards designing an Australian-built rover for the Moon.
